Djibouti – The East African advantage
Djibouti provides one of the best reasons for EZW’s special interest in Africa - strategic location and the enormous market that it represents. A market fast waking up to modern investment definitions and carrying immense prospects both for the investor and the host economy. In our efforts to replicate the Jebel Ali success story across the world, we see Africa as potentially the most rewarding. The Djibouti Free Zone (DFZ) development, which we are engaged in, is clearly one of our proud investments in the continent.
In terms of geographic advantages and market potential, Djibouti is a lot like Dubai. Its position at the mouth of the Red Sea makes Djibouti an excellent transshipment point for good entering and leaving East Africa. The port is the gateway to a great highland market.
In 2009, we are starting to think about future free zone development in Djibouti. The progress is steady and encouraging which makes Djibouti another feather in the EZW cap.
