Electricity Interconnection between Djibouti and Ethiopia
The project of electric interconnection between Djibouti and Ethiopia, which will cost 45 million USD, will enable to import more than 300 GWH from Ethiopia to Djibouti.
This project is expected to be finalized within 20 months period by the end of the year 2009.
New Container Terminal
The building of a new container terminal in the Doraleh area for 400 millions USD will enhance the Djibouti Port’s capacity by an extra 1.5 Million TEUs per year.
This new container terminal with 20 m depth will enable the country and the Port of Djibouti to offer world class port facilities to the next generation vessels.

Among the major objectives of the hotel, appears the positioning of KPHD
- As the first hotel of businesses and leisure of Djibouti and the bordering African countries.
- To make Djibouti a valued destination in international tourism and to place KPHD as one of the best hotels in the Horn of Africa.
The first phase of the hotel features:
- 177(Deluxe rooms) including 16 junior suites, 9 Deluxe suite and 1 presidential suite.
- The second phase of the Djibouti palace Kempinski will open in the summer of 2008 with the facilities and services which will include:
- 400 (Deluxe rooms)
- A Business and conference Executives lounge
- A complete leisure and sport center
- All facilities for entertainment and relaxation
